2011 End of Year Thank you Letter
Dear Kenyans and Friends of Kenya,
Greetings and hope all is well with you.
As we reflect on the year 2011, it is with utmost humility that I would like to express sincere gratitude as Chairman of Kenya-Cincinnati Association (KCA) and on behalf of the executive branch. We have been privileged and honored by your engagement and participation with KCA. Your support, commitment and dedication has been and still continues to be outstanding. We especially would like to applaud many of you who have continued to work behind scenes during our functions and events. You are our heroes and we not only encourage you but also look forward to the day you will come and join us as members thus enhance our efforts further as we reach out to our fellow brothers and sisters in desperate need back in Kenya.
Due to the overwhelming support we received during our annual dinner this year, we will be widening the circle of opportunity to embrace a few more orphaned children and those from poverty-stricken families by providing funds for education in accordance with our laid down protocols. We are very excited about our enhanced activities and programs for the year 2012; I would like to encourage Kenyans and friends of Kenya in the Tri-State Metro area of Cincinnati and those who may have the opportunity to join us during these activities to frequently visit our web site for highlights and updates.
2011 Annual Dinner Thank you letter
Ladies and gentlemen, fellow Kenyans and well-wishers;
It is with utmost humility that we at the Kenyan-Cincinnati Association (KCA) executive would like to express our sincere gratitude for your support at our recent annual dinner event that was graced by the presence of our Ambassador H.E. Elkanah Odembo.
Thank you to our American brothers and sisters, fellow Africans from other African nations and the international community. We THANK YOU for your sacrificial effort of time and financial support to help our cause "Providing education scholarships for orphaned and impoverished children back in Kenya".
KCA ACHIEVEMENTS
In keeping with the association’s philosophy, KCA has been engaged in both local and international outreach activities.
In 2006, the association organized a fund drive to help with the famine in drought stricken areas of Kenya. A total of $2,000 dollars was collected and sent to Kenya through “save a life fund” based in Nairobi. These funds were used to facilitate some feeding programs. Locally, on several occasions, KCA raises small funds within the organization to help defray costs for Kenyans and friends who are confronted with sudden unforeseen misfortunes and challenges.
Members of the association have on numerous occasions volunteered for local community activities that help local non-profit organizations. Two times a year, KCA organizes a cookout at the park to provide an opportunity for students and families of Kenyan descent to meet and interact.
